Grand Cru, naturally

Welcome to the site of the producers of Dézaley Grand Cru

  • An emblematic vineyard area

At the heart of the terraced vineyards of Lavaux, which have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2007, sits Dézaley – impressive for its steep slopes, the endless walls that snake along the hillsides in layers that seem to climb towards the sky. Chasselas is the king of grapes here, the home where it is blessed with its finest expression.
  • Great wines that improve with time

The Grand Cru wine is noted for its smoky, burnt character as well as for aromas of almonds, honey and caramel, threaded through with hints of flowers and fruits. Other than its clay-limestone soil, it owes it aromatic potential to the steep slopes as much as to the lake and supporting walls of broken silex (flint-like) stone. These amplify the effects of the sun, in Dézaley, the best possible conditions for a great wine with depth. Well-structured, generous with the ability to age beautifully.
  • Grand Cru, naturally

The government of Canton Vaud 21 March 2013 responded favourably to a request by the Vaud Wine Interprofessional Commission to award AOC Grand Cru (appellation d’origine contrôlée) status to the Dézaley and Calamin vineyard zones. The two zones’ special location and situation were renowned throughout their history and anchored in Vaud’s legal system in 1949.
